Big Hitting Performance Leads The Lady Cats to a 12-0 Victory!!!

A great effort by Taylor Boling led the Gilmer Lady Cats Varsity Softball team to  a 12-0 victory against Southeast Whitfield on Tuesday in Dalton, GA. Boling shook the ground for Southeast Whitfield with two home runs, went 2-3 in the game with five RBIs, and three runs scored. Boling hit both homers in the fourth inning as the Lady Cats batted through the line up. The biggest inning for Gilmer Lady Cats Varsity was the fourth. In the inning Gilmer Lady Cats Varsity scored nine runs. Gilmer Lady Cats Varsity scored in the fourth on a two-run home run by Boling, a two-run double by Mallory Kiser, an RBI triple by Marie Goswick an RBI single by Katlin Dale, and a three-run homer by Boling. Other notable hits came from Brittani Ballew, Karli Loudermilk, and Sara Mosley. The Lady Cats performed outstanding offensively. They also played a great defense led by Boling as she pitched a shutout, allowing no runs on two hits while striking out six. The Lady Cats are now 4-4 in region play and 8-5 overall. They travel to River Ridge High School on Wednesday to take on a non-region opponent in the Lady Knights.
