Gilmer Lady Cats played good, but just couldn’t pull together for a win against LaFayette on Thursday the 15th. Down below is a brief description of the game by Ashley Waters.

“Hannah Bennett was hot from the plate for Gilmer Lady Cats Varsity. Bennett went 1-3, drove in one and scored the Lady Cats only run off her first home run of the season in the fifth inning.

Taylor Boling. Karli Loudermilk, and Madison Carver also helped the Lady Cats put runners on base with hits of their own, but the Lady Cats were unable to bring those runs across the plate.

The Lady Cats are now 4-6 in region play and 9-8 overall. They travel to North Cobb this weekend to play in the North Cobb Invitational. Their next region game is against Heritage on Wednesday, Sept. 21st in Ellijay.”

Edit: Lady Cats did well at the North Cobb Tournament defeating North Cobb and Dunwoody and lost to North Paulding. All of these schools were AAAAAA and thus two classifications above our own beloved Lady Cats. Good Job, Ladies!
