The Fishing Club has worked very hard into getting into this championship. From fishing small tournaments to the Georgia State Championship last March. Grant Ledford and Issac Colwell placed 7th in the Georgia State Championship which gave life to Regional.
These students focused and worked tirelessly to get hand picked out of 500 schools in seven states. These states include: AL. GA. NC. SC. FL. TN. KY. Only 57 schools/teams were qualified for the Southeast Conference Championship and these boys were among them.
Talking with these students we asked a series of questions.
How did you like the turn out of the tournament? “Well it was good. We caught a lot of fish but all the fish were 1 inch short to weigh in, but we ended up catching 1 fish to weigh in so it was pretty good.”
What did you do to prepare yourself for this tournament? “We pre-fished the weekend before the tournament and the Friday before the tournament.
How did you feel about being qualified for this tournament? “I felt honored about it, because to me it was a big deal to advance from a regional tournament.”
How did you like the turn out of the tournament? “It was good.”
What did you do to prepare yourself for this tournament? “Spent the weekend before and that weekend pre-fishing.”
How did you feel about being qualified for this tournament? “Felt great. It was great opportunity.”
